Big/Love, Western Connecticut State University

Pam McDaniel approached Mr. Lerner with the play about 50 brides and 50 grooms with the intention of bringing a choreographer in who doesn’t just make choreography, but also can work with actors to create a movement world.  The playwright, Charles M Lee, calls for a sense of heightened movement through the entirety of the play as well as actors throwing themselves at the ground in a choreographed manner.  Mr. Lerner leapt at the chance to move past his choreographic roots and try something new.  The final result was actors tumbling, screaming, and launching themselves across stage as they incorporated complex movement intro their characters.
